there goes my Buddy
i'm stuck down south while my buddy's heading up north.we're going to literally be on opposite ends of the world now.
from pole to pole, i hope our friendship stays strong.
Buddy...
thank you for always being there even when i call you at ungodly hours.
thank you for containing my tears in a bottle and throwing it out to sea many a times.
thank you for all the meet-ups to catch-up or kill time, for shopping or a caffeine-fix, for an early morning breakfast or a late night supper, for listening to me as i rant or holding me when i cry, for everything under the sun and for nothing at all.
thank you for just being you and
thank you for being my buddy.
emotion's taking over and words are escaping me.
so for all the things i've not mentioned, i thank you still.
you wouldn't believe this and neither can i,
but i can hardly contain my tears now.
wish i could be there to give you a big tight hug and perhaps never let you go.
since i can't be there to see you off, here's my best wishes to you.
it's an opportunity i know you've been waiting for so live it out to the fullest.
it will be nice to run away and escape from the world back home, dream and live it but remember to stay grounded.
sometimes it's hard not to feel alone when you're out there but always remember that there are people back home (and in tassie) who still love you.
take care of yourself and stay safe.
i love you Buddy! and i will miss you a whole lot!

fishy business
i went to the market to buy fish for steaming.we chose a big fat trumpeteer[name of the fish] and went on to get some other ingredients to cook it with.
only when i was preparing to cook it did i realise that the fish was neither scaled nor cleaned out.
damn!
the scaling part was not too bad actually
but when i cut the fish up and saw all the insides...
half of me was asking "where's papa?" and the other half of me was regretting not paying attention when my dad tried to teach me how to clean out a fish.
BUT i ended up doing a wonderful job of it if i might say so myself
and everybody enjoyed the steamed fish a lot.
i scaled the fish, cleaned out the fish and cooked the fish.
i am darn proud of myself!
finally, a really cheena dinner.
with my new cheena bowl, cheena soup spoon and cheena chopsticks.
yum yum.

chasing trees
"Should i give up,Or should i just keep chasing pavements?"
the music video for this song, Chasing Pavements by Adele is one of my favourites. [in fact, i can't think of another music video that i really like.] go watch it.
you told me that
when you go running,
you'd aim for a certain tree
find yourself a destination
and run towards it.
when you reach it,
you'd aim for yet another one
and run even more.
that
is how you conquer the distance
running more than you thought you could.
let me have those points.
don't take the trees away from me.
don't place those points further and further away as i am still running.
it's exhausting.
just a flat space.
a path with nothing on its sides.
all i see is the horizon
and i'm running towards it.
of course i'm never going to reach the horizon
i don't know where the path leads or how long it'll go on for.
with no destination in sight,
running seems that much harder and tiring.
half the time i am thinking if i should stop and give up.
how long more have i got to go?
am i closer to the destination or the starting point?
should i push on forward or should i turn around and head back?
i would like to have you run alongside me
let's agree on a tree
and we'll run towards it.
at our destination,
grant me a hug and maybe a peck on my cheek.
then we'll choose our next tree.
now, i ask for a tree.

happy bubbles
the nitrox reminds me of happy gas.regulators hanging off the edge of the boat and i felt tempted to put one into my mouth.
i wanted so much to snuggle into one of those wetsuits that were lying around.
and i want to steal the boat and take it out to sea.
now all the more i want to do that diving course at the end of the year.
and i want my honours project to be something marine.
i realised the boat shed in school is a dangerous place for me.
I WANT TO GO DIVING!!! NOW!
