FAB FEB
it's been a fabulous february!
So much has happened this month but i can't seem to find time to jot all of it down. Since i found this new photo editing and collage app on my phone, it's made things so much easier! I can edit photos and blog them on the go!
So i shall just leave some photos here for memories sake.

Here's a summary of the bf's birthday. We went to a spanish restaurant for tapas... overpriced food that didn't fill our tummies but at least the food was good! Love the foie gras and steak dish. Hope the bf enjoyed dinner. The day was mostly spent enjoying each others' company and not doing very much else.

In short... the boy gave me flowers for the very first time! Along with it, a card with the most romantic thing he has ever told me! =D

Finally Spruced
I finally visited Spruce yesterday! Been wanting to try out that place after reading many rave reviews about their brunch. They really caught me at the variety of egg benedict dishes on the menu. So when i could not have dinner with the family for my Dad's birthday due to work... I suggested having a birthday brunch at Spruce instead!
It's tucked away in some expensive private estate area along Tanglin road. It has a woody alfresco area with lots of greenery but since our outdoor table wasn't ready, we opted for an indoor table. Nice clean white walls with lots of natural light flowing through and just touches of colours from paintings hanging off the walls and the flowers on each table... just the way i like it. Captivating ambience... but sadly neither food nor service lived up to my expectations.
The food really wasn't great at all... mediocre at best. We had a crabcake with egg benedict which was disappointing. With such an elaborate egg benny menu, i would have expected them to at least do that well. No luck there... need to hunt for a good egg benny place. The black pig pasta was just so-so. The big brekkie was... normal... something i can probably pull off in my own kitchen. They could not even get the bread board right. The bread were not warm crusty and soft inside like how good bread should be. Even the mocha was all wrong... Hot or cold... both were tasteless. The only good thing that came out of the kitchen was the banana hotcakes that my bro had. Yum... Lots of bananas and blueberries on a stack of soft light pancakes. They also added some crumbs that tasted like broken up cookies but with A LOT of sugar. The crunch went well with the whole dish though.
Hmm... dunno if i'll give that place another chance. It's nice for a romantic date but can get a little crowded. One thing's for sure... if i go back... it won't be for their brunch.
