sem 6: week 10
yet another week.yet another insane rush!
i'm not even keeping up with my own deadlines... which is bad.
very very bad.
there's an information session later today about Honours.
i'm still deciding if i should go.
if i go... i'd feel obliged to approach potential supervisors and talk about potential projects.
thing is... i don't even know what kind of project i wanna take on... if i decide to even do honours at all.
another year of research?
i'm not sure. as it is i'm already sorta struggling with my research project.
and of course there's always the issue of $$$ that even a zoology scholarship is not gonna solve.
to go or not to go...?

my happiness and me
it's in my hands.i am in charge of it.
it's my responsibility and mine alone.
but sometimes i place the burden on the ones i love.
to make me happy.
to satisfy me.
but i'd never be satisfied no matter what they do or how much they try.
because i'm not letting myself.
it's all in me.
only I can make myself happy.
the point of love is not to find someone who makes you happy.
but someone you can openly share your happiness with and have them share theirs.
in every way. in every form.
this was written long long time ago but i never got around to posting it (i think... went through my archives.. not there). i almost forgot about it but something happened recently that reminded me of it. it started off as a reminder to myself but now i think its something to be shared.
most times, happiness is brought about by ourselves. we should by no means expect others to make us happy. when we expect, they might feel obliged but it's not going to be sincere. would we then be satisfied? to make others feel obliged to make us happy? if we feel that we need to be happy... even just for one day... then it's our duty to make ourselves happy. do things we like... appreciate life and whatever we've got. don't expect others to do it because nobody is gonna end up happy at all.

sheep dreamin'

it warms my heart to look back and see how far we've come.
i used to stand before a cold tough fortress outside the huge and heavy metal doors. with much patience and endurance, i waited to be let in. it was not the easiest or the most pleasant of things to be pounding on doors that are towering you, only to hear well not much of a knock really. then you'd begin to wonder... can anybody on the opposite side of those thick metal things actually hear you?
when i was finally let in, i still had to find my way around. that place is a maze that went on forever... one i have explored and have learnt to find my way around. still not entirely though... there are many corners left unseen.
now... that cold fortress has become a warm and fuzzy teddy bear i can cuddle. vast change in entity i know. i prefer this better... much much better. it feels more real and closer. there is nothing to be afraid of. nothing standing between each hug. what i see is everything there is to it. it's open, it's comfortable. i feel grateful for a fuzzy teddy bear and all i want to do is run my hand over its head and fuzz up all the fur.
i guess it does not make very much sense but it sure means a lot to me.
i do feel guilty sometimes not being able to be there for my man,
to make him smile after a bad day at work,
or to give him a hug and assure him that he's better than he gives himself credit for,
or to give him a good luck kiss for things like his theory test.
well i'll be home soon and then he'll be one pampered kiddo. =)

Sem 6 : Week 8
almost the end of week 8 out of a 13 week semster. that's just a mere 5 weeks before study week. 30-odd days left!i think i'm done with all the analyses for my research project (except for re-running the stats again for a set of data where i made a careless mistake! urgh!). so i'll be on to writing the report. had planned to start during the break last week but obviously that did not happen. hmm...
we're also almost done with the experiments with the lizards for behavioural ecology. at least one set of experiments is complete. the other didn't really work but that's optional. we'll try it again next week anyway. plus more data to analyse and then the presentation and report.
we're FINALLY done collecting possum poo!!! yay! no need to pray for good weather and go out poo hunting when it rains anyway anymore!!! woohoo! our data kinda sucks... but who cares. more data to analyse there and one more report to write. our lecturer gave us the opportunity to hand-in a joint report coz there's just the two of us in the group. i'm not sure that's a good thing really. don't know if it really means doing less work or it just means we'll be spending more time solving conflicts.
i seriously wonder how i am going to finish all that work in time! boohoohoo...

break, uni, break, uni, BREAK!
alrightey... so this marks the end of my week-long semester break. didn't really take a break... like go out or anything... and i still went back to school quite a bit.
break's just little bits and pieces in between, of going out on a snapping spree with Joshua, watching movies, watching old episodes of How I Met Your Mother and finding out how Robyn first joined the gang, and finally tearing open the plastic wrap around my by-now-not-so-new Jodi Picoult book. oh and i bought durian (frozen fresh but no seeds) and mooncake with double yolk! yummy!!!
so there! my break.
on the other hand, i've got my next big break all planned out! sort of...
my darling cousin's coming over to Melbourne for a holiday so i'll be hopping over to meet her. flights are all booked! now just got to get on with the plans for the trip. i'm not too familiar with Melbourne, having spent only all of one day there and a couple of flight transits in the airport. that's it. hopefully all would go smoothly. i'm really excited about this first cuzzies trip together!!! so i have that to look forward to and not too long after i return from Melb... my family would be coming over to Tassie and we'd be off travelling.
now what stands between me and all that fun stuff is 2 essays, 3 reports, a research journal and 2 exam papers.
it'll all be over. soon.

love on the road
if he can't be your travel partner...
then he can't be your life partner.
