Fifteen Melbourne
i really have nothing better to do now but i'm still not done sorting out photos to post on fb so needless to say there's not gonna be much photos of the trip here anytime soon either. i have however made myself sit down and put together some pictures from the highlight of this trip to Melbourne. Lunch @ Fifteen Melbourne. it is one of Jamie Oliver's family of restaurants that he set up with his apprentic Tobie Puttock.
the food was alright... not the keep-craving-to-go-back-for-more good except for the squid salad which even the dessert can't beat. it was nonetheless a very memorable lunch. it's been a long time since i last had a fine dining experience and it was nice to have a nice lunch with the cousin. i think what made it special was the fact that my cousin got all excited about the place and about meeting Tobie. She is a big fan of Jamie Oliver and has watched how the restaurant was being set up and all that so it meant more to her to be there. Me on the other hand have never been a big fan of Jamie Oliver. In fact, i even change channels whenever he's on tv. After this experience, it has changed a bit. I think i just might sit through his shows now... or maybe just the season with Fifteen Melbourne. Just so i can say "Hey! I've been there!".

Grilled squid salad with chilli, mint, snow pea shoots and capers;
Pappardelle with a Venetian style veal ragu, parmesan and gremolata (lemon, parsley, garlic);
Tagliata 'di manzo': Grilled Victorian beef porterhouse with rocket and parmigiano; and
Blueberry frangipani tart with mascarpone.

Towards the end of lunch, Hazel spotted Tobie in the kitchen and got even more excited. With the help of the waitress, we managed to sneak in a photo with Tobie. A nice wrap up to the fine lunch. =)
