the greedy boy and me

the greedy boy who stole my burger
this photo has nothing to do with the content of this post... i just wanted to put it up.

28th - 29th May 2010
Vesak day, after my vegetarian lunch:

a long journey to the east in the pouring rain. i make that trip pretty often these days because the my dearest darling lives and work all the way on the other side of the world. this time, i travelled with him next to me which makes the pain of the long journey better.

he was supposed to cook me dinner but was too tired from his climb and i was too lazy to help. after going through the stuff in his fridge and cupboard, we ended up with dinner at a nearby hawker centre instead. after which, we went for our unavoidable trip to the supermarket. ended up with a punnet of cherries and a frozen pizza, both of which we finished within the night despite already being stuffed from dinner. apart from continuously chomping, all we did was laze in front of the tv while he channel surfed and i grow bored, until the night grew old and we snuggled up into bed.

it was nice waking up (partially) in his arms. (i say 'partially' because his old tiny smelly bolster takes priority when it comes to being hugged. sigh... where do i stand (or lie).) i like disturbing him in the morning when he's awake but yet not quite. i manipulate his facial features to make any kind of funny faces i feel like, and then i laugh to myself and sometimes he lets out a laugh too in his half-sleep-form.

when we finally manage to crawl out of bed, motivated only by the fact that he needs to be at work to feed the fishes. after we got out of the house though, he got a call to say that he does not have to go in to work... so we went for breakfast! i haven't went out for an early morning breakfast in a long time. actually it wasn't exactly early morning breakfast anymore... more like brunch. fishball noodles and chee cheong fun. nice.

with our tummies filled, we went for a walk and passed by a mama shop. having lived in a new estate for the past 10 years, it's been a long time since i last visited a mama shop. THE MAMA SHOP HAS A DOORBELL eventhough it has no doors. i was just walking around, excited to see the old chidhood snacks and it went DING-DONG. it took me by surprise. it appears like the old ordinary mama shop but it has upgraded a little with its ding-dong. we left with an ice stick to share and a packet of durian corn snack for me. it was dusty all over the outside but still the same old yummy treat inside. yum yum yum...

because his work for the day got called off, we get to stay in for the rest of the day. good thing coz i was having a horrible headache from not having my caffeine fix earlier in the morning. i plopped on the sofa when we got home and slowly slide into a comfortable slouchy position. he then plopped next to me and dropped his head, landing it on my tummy. me reading the funnies in readers' digest and he reading some mag about sports stuffs (with pretty girls in bikinis in them) . aaahhh... i could do that all day everyday. just being together. =)

after being rested, we made fish food with his mummy's cookie maker (shhhh...) and played a game of Citadels (which he lost miserably =p).

what a weekend...
i want more of these!!!

then it was time for me to make the long painful journey back home... this time alone.
